About the book
These days, we're bombarded with information. In our just-in-time society, we have more information than ever before, but we're taking less and less time to process it. Taking time to think and reflect has become a rare commodity.
In (Un)certain, author and columnist Julien De Wit describes in each chapter what he notices in today's society if we dare to pay attention. As a growing twenty-something, he wants to slow down, reflect, and consider the uncertainty and fear that plague society today. Together with the reader, he searches for tools to combat this uncertainty, to resist defeatism.
In (Un)certain, Julien writes essays about, among other things, the ever-changing world, fear, climate, identity, the definition of success, growing up in 2024, the search for self-discovery in young twenty-somethings, the role of social media, our constantly distracted minds, the value of literature, the meaning of work, and coping with change as a young adult.

About the session
During this session, author Julien De Wit elaborates on our uncertain selves in this uncertain world. He claims we don't deal well with uncertainty, but offers some anchors to manage better. After the interactive presentation, we have space for a Q&A and group discussion.
Your active participation will enrich the discussion and help us all make the most of the session! It's advised, but not necessary to read the book. If you can't read the book, come prepared to get the most out of the session. You can read this summary online that the author made for us, especially for this event!
