Je moet het minstens een keer in je leven meemaken: de wonderlijke Japanse theeceremonie, een ritueel dat kunst en traditie verenigt. Elke maand organiseert de Japanse Tuin zo’n demonstratie. Onze thee­meester Staf Daems legt hierin de principes van de theeceremonie uit en voert vervolgens zelf een demonstratie uit in de stijl van zijn theeschool Urasenke, een van de grote drie scholen in Japan. Op het einde kun je zelf van een kopje matcha-thee genieten.

You have to experience it at least once in your life: The wondrous Japanese tea ceremony, a ritual that combines art and tradition. Every month, the Japanese Garden hosts one of those demonstrations. Our tea-master Staf Daems will explain the principles of tea ceremony and will then perform a ceremony in the style of his tea school ‘Urasenke’, one of the three major tea schools in Japan. At the end, you can enjoy a cup of matcha-tea yourself.
