Next-Gen Libraries - How can IoT and Apps be used to innovate
Evenementdetails
Over dit evenement
The Antwerp libraries (16) are looking for a hybrid way to provide an easy, intuitive, innovative and open way to lend physical books, dvd’s, cd’s ... to all their customers. Whether customers are tech savvy or not, have a tablet, a smartphone or not, prefer human contact or not, speak the local language or not, are mobile or not ... everyone needs to be able to lend and return physical items from one of our libraries.
At this moment all Antwerp libraries offer a mix of self-checkout via the checkout machines in the library and via the library staff. These machines will be replaced soon, and the libraries are thinking about new and innovative solutions:
- New self-check out machines
- Hand scanners
- Proprietary app or embedding in City of Antwerp App
- ...
WHAT?
An interactive workshop, to co-create potential solutions for the Libraries of Antwerp.
The better informed they are, the better and more sustainable the solutions will be that they will provide to the citizens.
Specific points of discussion:
- Which IoT solutions should be looked at, in terms of sustainability, future-proofness, effectiveness, usability and cost?
- Which IoT solutions could be used remotely, e.g. to bring back books at the swimming pool or other non-library public buildings?
- How do IoT solutions and mobile applications compare? Can they co-exist?
FOR WHOM?
Tech companies in IoT, smart city platforms or applications, and (mobile) application development and user experience.
