Expect a unique uninterrupted musical story in which tranquility, tension, musical themes and dynamics carry you along for an hour. A moment of peace, stillness and connection in a world full of meetings, whatsapp messages and instareeltiktokstory. Each concert is a new creation and a perfect pick for a first date, a friends night out or if you're feeling culturally curious.

H ow it works

Tijdens dit exclusieve en intieme concert kun je een van de matjes en kussens uitkiezen en je nestelen rond de vleugelpiano. Het concert duurt ongeveer 75 minuten. Er zijn geen pauzes. Na het concert kan je rustig de stad weer in trekken.

During this exclusive and intimate concert, you can pick one of mats and cushions and settle around the grand piano. The concert lasts about 75 minutes continuously. There are no breaks. After the concert, you can take your time to go back into town.

S int Baafshuis?

Het Sint Baafshuis ligt pal in het centrum van Gent naast de Sint Baafskathedraal waar Van Eycks 'de Aanbidding van het Lam Gods' hangt. Het gebouw heeft een lange en rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de 16e eeuw en diende als seminarie, school en internaat. Vandaag is het volledig gerestaureerd. Het concert vindt plaats rond de vleugel in de prachtige intieme concertruimte op de bovenste verdieping.

Sint Baafshuis is located in the very center of Ghent next to St. Baafs Cathedral with Van Eycks work the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. The building has a long and rich history dating back to the 16th century and served as a seminary, school and boarding school. Today it has been fully restored. The concert will take place around the grand piano in the beautiful intimate concert space on the top floor.

M attias Devriendt?

Mattias Devriendt leerde piano spelen op 9-jarige leeftijd. Hij woont in Gent. Sinds 2022 speelt hij lying down concerts. Geen Mozart, Beethoven of Schubert, maar eigen werk. Zijn belangrijkste invloeden zijn Radiohead, Philip Glass, Nicolas Jaar, The Album Leaf, Nils Frahm Keith Jarrett en Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Sinds 2004 speelt hij in de band Monserey en sinds 2022 treedt hij ook solo op als pianist. 'Mijn missie is om via muziek mensen een moment van rust en verdieping te bieden." In 2024 brengt hij de laatste van 4 EP's uit samen met het label BRG Benelux. De 4 EP’s zijn getiteld Simplicity, Contension, Equinamity en Opposition en er is ook een vinyl album ‘As I Lay Down‘. In oktober 2023 werd hij door Stad Gent verkozen tot Gentenaar van de maand.

Mattias Devriendt learned to play the piano at the age of 9. He lives in Ghent. Since 2022, he plays lying down piano concerts. No Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert, but his own work. His main influences are Radiohead, Philip Glass, Nicolas Jaar, The Album Leaf, Nils Frahm, Keith Jarrett and Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Since 2004 he has played in the band Monserey and since 2022 he has also performed solo as a pianist. "My mission is to offer people a moment of peace and stillness through music." In October 2023, he was elected Gentenaar of the month by the City of Ghent.
