The Division Men - Hymns and Fiery Dances - Missy Sippy
Overview
Born in Berlin, raised by Texas heat and desert silence, this husband and wife duo turn love and loss into slow-burning confession. Caroline Rippy Portillo’s voice drifts like smoke through J. Spencer Portillo’s low, weathered baritone, and together they sound like midnight remembering its own name.
Their new album Hymns and Fiery Dances (out August 22, 2025) features guest appearances from artists tied to groups like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Los Lobos, and more, weaving in borderland roots, romantic darkness, and rich texture.
The album currently includes:Rafael Gayol (Leonard Cohen)
Peter Hayes (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club)
Jay Reynolds (Asleep at the Wheel)
Fredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Los Lobos)
Leah Shapiro (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club)
Beto Martinez (Grupo Fantasma)
