This roundtable event will be hosted by MEP Vytenis Andriukaitis (S&D, LT), with the support of ViiV Healthcare and the Office of Health Economics.

The event will kick off with an overview of a newly released set of data by the Office of Health Economics, focusing on the cost of complacency in the HIV response across Europe. This cross-country analysis illustrates the consequences of stalled progress in reducing HIV transmissions, focusing on key policy barriers and the potential long-term impact of declining investments in the HIV response across several EU countries.

In addition, the event will feature presentations from national government representatives sharing their countries’ approaches to ending the HIV epidemic, alongside a presentation by the ECDC on the latest epidemiological data on HIV, TB, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections in the EU/EEA.

A detailed agenda will follow shortly.
