Imagine growing up on the Clash, the Smiths and the Cure. Then hitting 30 and falling in love with Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams and Gram Parsons…
Steve Leon & The Accusations mix indie, country and folk in an adventurous and unique way.
The Antwerp-based band bring you indie songwriting wrapped up in country and folk arrangements, complete with lilting violin, weeping pedal steel and urgent mandolin chops.
The resulting sound has a good chance of appealing to fans of bands like Wilco, Bright Eyes, Green On Red/Chuck Prophet or The Mountain Goats.
Steve started writing songs for what became The Accusations during the pandemic and the band formed soon after. They didn’t waste any time in releasing their debut EP “Louche”, which saw the light of day in May ’23 on German label Off Label Records.
Ever since, the band played all over Germany, Holland and Belgium, putting on a captivating and varied live show wherever they go.
In between shows, they found the time to record their debut album: “Borrowed time bonanza” will be out on Off Label Records on November 8th 2024, showcasing a growth in sound and dynamics that reflects their ever tightening bond as a group of musicians and friends.
All recordings were made straight to 16 track analogue tape without any editing, reflecting the band's live sound in the most honest way possible. This was a very conscious decision, made in an effort to preserve human imperfection in these times of glossed over productions and AI generated music.

In het historische hart van Gent schuilt achter een eeuwenoude gevel een eigentijdse jukejoint. Het old-fashioned interieur met imposante foto’s en knusse salonelementen ademt het elan van een gezellig bluescafé van de 21e eeuw uit. Jouw New Orleans aan de Leie.

Wij houden de blues, jazz, rootsmuziek en swing springlevend; wekelijks passeren concerten, jams, dj-sets en dansavonden de revue. Pakweg Miss Billie of Miss Bessie galmen door de boxen en zorgen ervoor dat je je thuis voelt.

Missy Sippy Blues & Roots Club biedt een rijk gevuld programma.

Zonder vlammende gitaren of harley's brengen we hier een hedendaagse hommage aan bluesmuziek. Zowel ronkende internationale namen als fris Gents talent bestijgen ons podium en veroveren je hart. Missy Sippy is de thuis voor de Gentse blues scene en is een haven tot ver daarbuiten.
