Making a Photography Book

Making a Photography Book

Online event
Overview

Turn your photographs into a book that tells a story.

A great photobook is more than a collection of good images—it is a carefully edited visual narrative. In this workshop, you'll learn how to transform a body of photographs into a cohesive, professionally presented book.

Drawing on my experience as a photographer, picture editor, and author of The Time Between, I'll guide you through every stage of the process, from selecting images to preparing your book for print.

What you'll learn

  • Developing a concept for your book
  • Editing and selecting your strongest photographs
  • Sequencing images to create rhythm and flow
  • Building visual connections between photographs
  • Choosing the right format, size, and paper
  • Typography, captions, and page layout
  • Working with design software and templates
  • ISBNs, copyright, and publishing essentials
  • Printing options and self-publishing
  • Avoiding the most common mistakes first-time authors make

Whether you're creating a personal project, a portfolio, or a book for publication, this workshop will give you the practical tools and editorial mindset needed to produce a photobook with purpose and lasting impact.

Who is this workshop for?

Photographers of all levels who have a body of work and want to present it in a meaningful, professional format. While examples will focus primarily on street photography, the principles apply equally to documentary, portrait, travel, and fine art photography.
