Date and time
Description
Open Knowledge Belgium is organising the 7th edition of its open Summer of code in July.
Every week we will invite one guest speaker to come by during lunch and talk about a topic he or she is passionate about.
We're pleased to announce Yves Lorphelin, senior developer at Selor, as our second speaker. He will give a talk on domain-driven design.
This is an experience report talk about introducing Domain Driven Design in a small team. Diversity in this context is about people with disabilities. Cognitive & physical disabilities. We’ll explore the Domain, the design & models decisions made during the project, in order to phase out Legacy software, add functionalities. While applying DDD in an environment with lots of constraints, we also take a look at the impact this had on the team and the business.
Yves Lorphelin somehow landed into the world of development. Building software to solve business problems, trying not to create new ones. And always creating long-term relationships with customers.
He worked in all kind of domains: banking, leasing, logistics, Healthcare and HR recruitment. He spends his time building new systems, replacing legacy and integrating systems.
This Open event will be held at Selor. Feel free to join us - it's free and open to everyone!
