Co-interpreting in mixed deaf–hearing teams is increasingly present in professional practice - but how do we actually work well together?
This webinar offers a clear introduction to co-interpreting in Deaf–hearing teams, focusing on collaboration, roles, communication strategies, and shared responsibility during interpreting assignments. Drawing on their professional and training experience, Sophie Scheidt, Vivien Fontevieille and Nicolas Hanquet will highlight key principles, common challenges, and effective ways of working together.
Aim of the webinar
The aim of this webinar is to:
- introduce the foundations of co-interpreting in Deaf–hearing teams
- clarify roles, positioning, and interaction between Deaf and hearing interpreters
- highlight strategies that support trust, efficiency, and quality in teamwork
- help participants reflect on their own practice and expectations
This session also serves as a preparatory step for the upcoming in-person training in Toulouse between 17 - 19 April 2026. Participants will gain an overview of the themes, methods, and learning approach used during the physical training, helping them decide whether it fits their professional needs.
