Laughing So We Don’t Scream | Comedy Night
Because lately it feels like every day is Fool’s Day when you listen to the news, we thought a laughter break was the reasonable response.
Because lately it feels like every day is Fool’s Day when you listen to the news, we thought a laughter break was the reasonable response.
This all-female lineup brings together a vibrant mix of comedy styles: sharp observational humour, unapologetic personal stories, and storytelling with unexpected twists. Drawing from lives shaped by international moves, cultural clashes, politics, psychology, and everyday absurdities, each comedian offers a distinct perspective, and a strong point of view.
Expect jokes that hit close to home, moments of joyful discomfort, and the collective relief of laughing at the things we’re all quietly thinking. Whether you come to unwind after a long day or simply to remind yourself that nothing should be taken too seriously, this night is designed to do exactly that.
A powerhouse all-female lineup hosted by character-comedian Kym Nelson, bringing together a former dominatrix with outrageous dungeon tales, a ruthlessly sharp Chinese culture-clash comic, an Irish queen of confessional comedy, a fearless multilingual language nerd who performs in 8 languages (a walking Duolingo ad!) , and an Italian truth-teller unpacking therapy and her worst nightmares — for a night of bold, global, no-holds-barred laughter on April Fools Day!
Host: Kym Nelson
Kym's comedy is sharp, playful and relatable - blending storytelling with larger-than-life characters that hold a hilariously warped mirror up to modern life. She has written and performed two acclaimed solo shows and appears regularly at comedy clubs and festivals - including the Edinburgh Fringe - where her characters have delighted audiences with their absurd truths and comic precision. Beyond the stage, she brings the same wit and warmth into the real world, teaching comedy across the UK and Belgium and helping professionals unlock humour, confidence and connection in the workplace.
