Learn tips and tricks for maintaining a healthy balance in your life, both mentally and physically. Let's embark on this journey together and discover the power of self-love and self-care. Don't miss out on this opportunity to prioritize your well-being! A personal story from Goedele shortly: "I’ve been there, for 2 years in a row. When I turned 25, my body yelled “Stop!”, which my mind could not fight against any longer although it tried for such a long time. It was the most heart wrecking and heart warming experience at the same time. I wouldn’t be me without it. I wouldn’t be able to cope with life and work the way I do now if I hadn’t gone right through it. It has been and still is a journey of self-acceptance. And, from now on, selfcare is my main focus, in every aspect of life, so in my job as an interpreter too." Questions about yourself as a sign language interpreter: Are you or do you know someone who is on the edge of burnout, in one as we speak, or recovering? Are you in search of tools and other people’s experiences to help yourself or a colleague through? Do you simply want to focus on selfcare more, as an interpreter and in life in general? Do you believe that there might be another way forward in our jobs, society, and life; that there is strength in vulnerability? Why it is important?To make sure of that, our speaker will shed a light on 3 main topics: the process of burnout (burnout symptoms, knowledge of self, support systems), recovery (e.g. how to start interpreting again after a long absence from the job), and sustainable selfcare (energy management vs. time management, for yourself and in interaction with others). Goedele's personal story will be the common thread in providing participants with hands-on insights though examples, tools, tips, and shared experiences. Let’s keep burning on, together.
