About this event
Part of the Women Power Code Skills Week, Digital Leadership Institute and Civic UK invite you to an online event exploring the 3D printing sector, as part of the Women Power Code project.
The WOMEN POWER CODE project aims at celebrating the art of creating with code, motivating young and adult women to start developing tech skills, as well as connecting individuals, organizations and companies who are willing to support more women to thrive in today’s digital society.
As the 3D printing technologies continue to develop and innovate the market, we will have a closer look at how 3D printing works and what is the potential impact that this technology can have on globalization, as end users will be able to do much of their own manufacturing rather than engage in trade to buy products from other people and corporations.
On the agenda:
- Introduction to the Women Power Code project
- What is 3D printing and how does it work? What are its key benefits and limitations, and main industrial applications?
- The success story of a woman in 3D printing: Sarah Louise Ledjou
- Workshop: Design your first 3D object with Tinkercad
Join also the Women Power Code Social Learning Community to exchange knowledge and information and meet like-minded women interested in digital skills!
