Europe’s defence capabilities rely on secure access to critical raw materials such as beryllium, nickel and niobium, which are essential for advanced defence systems, aerospace technologies, communications, sensors and next-generation military capabilities.

Amid rising geopolitical tensions, increased defence spending and growing strategic dependencies, resilient supply chains have become a key priority for European security and defence policy.
