European AI Week 2022 - Opening Session

After the success of the 2021 edition, this first European AI Week will take place from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18 2022.
During the opening ceremony at 11am on Monday, we will be honoured to welcome the Ministers in charge of AI at the regional and federal level:
Mathieu Michel – Secretary of State for Digitalization, in charge of Administrative Simplification, Privacy and the Buildings Administration, attached to the Prime Minister
Hilde Crevits – Flemish Minister for Economy, Innovation and Work
Barbara Trachte – Secretary of State for the Brussels-Capital Region, in charge of Economic Transition and Scientific Research – Minister- President of the College of the French Community Commission (COCOF), in charge of the Promotion of Health, Family, Budget and public service.
We will also have short presentations of concrete actions out of the very vibrant eco-systems in Belgium with:
Nathanael Ackerman - General manager AI4Belgium – Digital Minds for Belgium – Head of AI @BOSA
Sabine Demey (Director Flanders Artificial Intelligence Research Program – IMEC) - Peter Spyns (Co-ordinator international R&I policy & senior policy advisor AI at Flemish administration) -Benoît Macq (Professor at UCLouvain and head of TRAIL) - Ann Nowé (Professor in the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Science as in the Computer Science group of the Engineering Faculty – VUB)
This year #EUAIWEEK welcomes 27 countries including 19 European countries and 350 Speakers who will intervene in 99 Sessions whose access is free.
The program includes inspiring talks, workshops, new insights from research, new publications and citizen debates about Health, Ethics and Law, Blockchain, Mobility, Future of works and skills and much more. During this week, organized by AI4Belgium and its many partners across Europe, everyone –expert or not - will have the opportunity to discover the fascinating perspectives of artificial intelligence worldwide.
