Almost a quarter of a century ago, the EU put forward the vision of a united European research area, a vision that was reinvigorated in 2018 with the new ERA policy programme. With many achievements, the efforts of the past decade however seem to have failed to significantly close the gap between the EU-13 and the EU-14. Taking note of the developments in our academic systems over the past 20 years, this year’s annual conference will shed light on the still existing imbalances within the EU, such as uneven brain circulation, and discuss possible leverage points for the work ahead to make the vision a full reality across Europe.
What has the EU’s vision of a united European research area meant for early career researchers across Europe? Join us and engage with European policy makers to discuss sustainable research careers, the Widening Program, brain circulation and much more.
