David Huycke (Belgium, °1967) is a renowned visual artist and professor, internationally acclaimed for his groundbreaking approach to silver and metalwork. Best known for reimagining the ancient technique of granulation, he has elevated it from delicate ornamentation to monumental sculptural objects.

In this lecture, Huycke will explore Constructive Granulation, his pioneering method that transforms thousands of silver granules into large-scale works where order and chaos, abstraction and figuration, meet. Drawing inspiration from cosmic phenomena and elemental forces, Huycke’s work reveals how a centuries-old technique can speak powerfully to contemporary artistic practice.
