What role can direct air capture play in sustainable aviation?

In 2021, the question should no longer be “why DAC?” but rather “how to make it widely available for e-kerosene production?"

À propos de cet évènement

DAC, which removes CO2 directly from the air, holds one of the keys to aviation decarbonisation as it is essential for producing close to carbon neutral e-kerosene.

DAC can scale-up and become cheaper, but it will only truly untap its potential with the appropriate level of policy support.

This event follows from a forthcoming E4tech report, commissioned by T&E, which assesses whether, when and how DAC could be scaled up to meet the demands of an e-kerosene industry at the scale needed to decarbonise European aviation.

The webinar will enable participants to receive a firsthand briefing from the author of the report, hear perspectives from various stakeholders in the NGO and industry communities as to what policy support is needed to scale up the technology and exchange views in an interactive Q&A session.

Provisional agenda:

14h30 - Welcome remarks: Andrew Murphy, Aviation Director, Transport & Environment

14h35 - Report presentation: Jo Howes, Principal Consultant, E4tech, followed by Q&A

15.05 - T&E views on DAC, Andrew Murphy, Aviation Director, Transport & Environment

15h15 - A perspective on accounting for DAC: Keith Whiriskey, Deputy Director, Bellona Europe

15h25 - A view from the industry: Daniel Egger, Chief Commercial Officer, Climeworks

15h35 - Q&A and closing remarks
