Bad Temper Joe ft. Olivier Vander Bauwede - Missy Sippy
Overview
If you’re after real, soul-stirring blues from Europe, you don’t have to look further than Germany’s Bad Temper Joe. With a slide guitar in his hands and songs that cut straight to the bone, he brings the blues to life in its purest form. His music is rough-edged and honest, full of feeling and depth, and it carries the timeless spirit of the Delta into the here and now.
In recent years, Bad Temper Joe has become a name to remember in the European blues scene. He’s been nominated for several awards, won the German Blues Challenge in 2022, and made waves across the Atlantic as the only European finalist at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. As Blues Matters magazine put it, “It’s hard to believe that the sounds of the Mississippi Delta have relocated to Germany, but they have.”
On his Belgian tour, he’ll be joined by Olivier Vander Bauwede on harmonica, a musician whose sound blends seamlessly with Joe’s deep, resonant style. Together, they deliver a beautifull performance that speaks of love, loss, and endurance. It’s the kind of music that doesn’t need polish or pretense, just truth, soul, and a voice that tells it like it is.
