The day will take stock of the announcements made by the European Commission and the Member States in the context of the revision (“modernization”) of EU animal welfare legislation.

The speakers and panel members will propose solutions to ensure the announced modernization delivers optimal results for animals, including by identifying convergence opportunities between animal protection and economic objectives, such as fair competition and economic efficiency.
