Energy Mission

Energy Mission is an international conference organized by EnergyVille, Flux50, IncubaThor and POM Limburg.

• EnergyVille is a collaboration between the Belgian research partners KU Leuven, VITO, imec and UHasselt in the fields of sustainable energy and intelligent energy systems. EnergyVille develops technology and knowledge to support public and private stakeholders in the transition to an energy efficient, decarbonised and sustainable urban environment. The unique complementarity of the research partners allows us to integrate the energy system value chain in its entirety, ranging from materials and components to the level of entire energy systems, business models and strategies.

• Flux50 is the membership organisation that helps Flanders gain international recognition as a Smart Energy Region. Flux50 facilitates cross-sector collaboration between energy, IT and building companies to enhance the competitiveness of the Flemish smart energy industry in the transition towards low carbon systems.

• Thor Park, located at the former mine site of Genk, is the incubator for start-ups and scale-ups focusing on technology, energy, smart manufacturing and innovation. IncubaThor is also the ideal base for researchers to start spin-off activities or to draw on the competences of the scientific and research environment in stimulating surroundings, as the R&D department of a larger national or an international company. IncubaThor offers an inspiring and professional working environment situated in an energy sandboxing zone. • POM Limburg is the Provincial Development Agency for Belgian’s Limburg and responsible for the execution of the socio-economic policies in Limburg (B). POM Limburg does this by developing business parks, advancing entrepreneurship, providing economic data and studies and delivering on strategic projects to benefit our economy. POM Limburg runs the Limburg platform for energy transition. In this platform leading clean tech companies, knowledge institutes and the government work together to realize breakthrough projects aiming to accelerate the transition towards a clean and sustainable economy.
