Meet the Author
I created this journal because I lived it.
It began during a season of loss, chronic pain, and transition—when everything felt heavy and nothing felt certain. I was emotionally worn out, physically hurting, and spiritually disconnected. I didn’t have a plan... just a longing for something to shift.
So I started walking.
At first, it was just one step. Then another.
Eventually, I walked 500 miles.
Those miles carried me through healing, empowerment, and an unexpected transformation.
Along the way, I lost 95 pounds, gained confidence, and stepped into a leadership role in the fitness industry as General Manager of a gym I deeply loved.
But the real journey wasn’t just physical.
It was deeply soulful.
Because somewhere between mile one and mile five hundred, I realized I wasn’t just walking to get fit—
I was walking home to myself.
To my strength. To my stillness.
To a rhythm that brought me back to center.
That journey changed me.
And I’ve created this journal to help change you.
Step Sisters™ was born from that same rhythm.
It’s not a weight-loss program.
It’s not about pace, performance, or perfection. Those are perks along the way.
It’s a movement for women who are ready to reclaim wellness as sacred, personal, and powerful.
It’s about walking in rhythm with your life.
It’s about seeing exercise as a celebration of what you can do—not a punishment for who you’ve been.
This is for the woman who’s ready to begin—even if she’s scared.
For the woman who’s been carrying too much and forgetting her own needs.
For the woman who longs to feel strong again—inside and out.
I’m also a proud empty-nest mama of four adult children—and a few extra hearts who’ve become part of our family story.
I homeschooled all four of my kids through graduation, spending 19 years learning, growing, and evolving together.
Today, I live in North Carolina with my husband, Jim; our two dogs, Toby and Lady; our cat, Misha; and a turtle named Pedro—who’s been with us for over a decade.
I stepped away from my role as a General Manager to answer a deeper soul calling:
To focus on my own health and wellbeing.
To walk women toward health and wholeness.
To create spaces that heal.
To remind us all that strength lives in our steps.
Whether you’re starting at mile one or mile five hundred, this journey is yours.
You are not too late. You are right on time.
And every step matters.
So let’s walk it together—
One stepping stone at a time.
For your body, mind, and spirit.
With you every step.
