Westgarth English Hub is one of 34 schools, selected for their expertise in teaching reading to support schools in their surrounding area. The English Hubs promote a love of reading and help schools to provide excellent teaching in phonics and early language. They focus on supporting the slowest progress children in Reception and Year 1 and ensure every child is successful, regardless of background, needs or abilities.We have lots of FREE support and possible funding options available for local schools, academies and free schools to improve the teaching and learning in phonics, early language and the love of reading. Now offering support for Junior schools, Special schools, Good/Outstanding Ofsted rated schools, schools with lower pupil premium percentages and any school previously eligible for Hub funding.
