The Victorian Society: Manchester Regional Group
The Manchester Regional Group serves all of Greater Manchester and further into Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumberland, Westmorland and Furness and the High Peak. Our main activity is providing events for members and the wider public in the region: talks on Victorian and Edwardian architecture, arts and society in autumn and winter, walks and trips in spring and summer, and visits to buildings as appropriate. We also produce a quality, free email newsletter three times a year – email the group to sign up.
The Group publishes the online Biographical Dictionary of Greater Manchester Architects, 1800-1940 manchestervictorianarchitects.org.uk which is compiled and updated by retired architect Neil Darlington.
