Psychedelic Society of Minnesota
About: The Psychedelic Society of Minnesota is a local chapter of a larger international organization aimed at building community around psychedelics. We aim to promote harm reduction by providing educational content to the public about the responsible use of psychedelics, providing spaces for like-minded people to support one another, and advocate for continued research into their mechanisms for therapeutic and spiritual uses. We host speaker series, support groups, discussions, social events, and more. Our group doesn't engage in or promote illegal activities during our events.
**You don't have to be a Meetup.com member to attend all of our events. While some events are private for members, most of them are accessible through our website https://psychedelicmn.com .
Becoming a Meetup member does give you access to notifications and opportunities to connect with members through discussions and messaging, so we hope you still consider joining!
You can also help keep this organization running by becoming a Supporting Member. We have monthly and yearly subscriptions that provide you with event discounts and exclusive benefits. https://psychedelicmn.com/become-a-supporting-member
Membership guidelines: This group operates within the legal bounds of the law. Attempting to buy, sell, or trade illegal substances will not only put you at risk, but this entire community as well. It is also not advised to arrive on psychoactive substances. It is simply the only way we can do what we do until the laws change (which they will and are). We do enforce these rules with membership bans if need be.
We ask that members, both new and current, conduct themselves according to qualities of sincerity, openness, willingness to engage in respectful interactions, a genuine interest in learning about responsible use of psychedelics, discretion, and positivity when engaging with other members and representing the psychedelic society. This refers to interactions during the approval process as well as conduct/behavior during our gatherings.
We also require all members to have a profile picture to promote transparency and trust in the group. You can create custom photos for each group you are in so only those approved in this group will be able to see your photo. Special exceptions can be made for members whose safety or professional reputation would be in jeopardy if someone were to identify them as a member of the community. If this is a big problem due to your job or other privacy concerns, you can send a photo to psychedelicmn@gmail.com that we can associate with your profile and membership in the group.
Additions to these guidelines include confidentiality about the content of what is discussed and shared in our events. To protect the safety and confidentiality of our members, leadership will enforce these policies should anyone be in violation of them. Breaches of confidentiality are relevant not just to people you talk to outside of this private community, but also within the private community.
Underground therapists, street dealers, MDMA, psilocybin, LSD, DMT, etc... are ILLEGAL and sharing information about their procurement or using them is not advised. Cannabis has been decriminalized in the state of Minnesota since 1976, and approved for medical use with a doctors recommendation since 2015 for specific medical conditions. Therefore when it comes to cannabis, we ask members and attendees of our events to engage within the legal limits written in the current state laws.
