Culture of Rights Education Programme (CORE-P)

The Culture of Rights Education Programme (COREP) is a new project from Royal Edinburgh Hospital Patients Council.

COREP is a lived experience-led training for Third Sector, NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership staff, students, unpaid carers, patients, and Edinburgh citizens. It draws on the experiences of patients and carers to explore financial and social rights within a human rights-based framework.

The training gives participants a way of understanding the real conditions people are living in, what they are admitted from and what they are discharged back into. Poverty, debt, and housing insecurity are not separate from mental health.

Training will be taking place in the COREP Training Room on the Ground Floor of the Andrew Duncan Clinic in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital EH10 5HF- follow the signs to Outpatient Reception, then turn left, and we are at the end of the corridor beyond the Patients Council Office and through two Fire Doors.
