Marissa Pendlebury
Marissa Pendlebury is an author, public speaker and founder of the award winning organisation Nourishing Routes.
Marissa has overcome her own battles with an eating disorder and poor mental health, to go on to become an expert in public health, psychology, nutrition and mental health. After working as a researcher and working with community groups for several years, Marissa came to realise that there is so much more to authentic happiness and health than simply food and exercise. The real empowering journey has to start from within, through developing compassion for the self and others, becoming able to express creativity, developing poitive relationships with food and body, becoming more grateful and mindful, feeling autonomous, engaging in pleasurable movement and feeling empowered enough to become your authentic self.
Marissa shares and promotes the Nourishing Routes philosophy through her one to one coaching and mentoring, workshops and public speaking, which she can deliver in a variety of settings. She has also recently developed an online course (being released in 2017) and has just written her first book called Nourishing Routes: Your Compassionate journey to Love Food, Adore Your Body and Become Yourself.
Marissa is qualified in Health Sciences and Nutrition (BSc), Psychology (MSc; MBPsS), Public Health (PGdip) and Counselling.
