Janisse Ray
Janisse Ray believes in the power of stories to transform--a single person, a community, or a nation--and leads writing workshops to show you how to do it. In her own work she explores borderlands and edges between nature and story. Ray has written or edited over a dozen books, beginning with Ecology of a Cracker Childhood, and has been published in more than 40 anthologies. Her books have been translated into French, Turkish, and Italian. She has received a Pushcart, American Book Award, Southern Environmental Law Center Award, among many others, and has been inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame. She loves dark chocolate, the blues, and any kind of wildflower. She lives on a rural farm inland from Savannah, Georgia.
