BSG Ageism SIG

Aims & Focus:

We’re a forum for the exchange of ideas, learning and opportunities, connecting people with a passion for working collaboratively to end ageism.

We look at the variety of manifestations of ageism including internalised and self-directed ageism, and intersectional dimensions to ageism. We’re interested in how ageism is embedded and expressed in policy and practice and what interventions are effective to tackle it.

Members of the SIG:

  • Get regular news about research, policy development and initiatives on ageism
  • Are invited to share experiences and work, and connect with others to develop ideas
  • Attend and have opportunities to present at online events with older people, leading researchers, policy makers and practitioners
  • Help to shape the focus and priorities of the SIG
