Theatre of Yes- Applied Theatre Company
We are an international company dedicated to creation and research in Applied Theatre and contemporary performance, led by Marina Pallarès Elias. Through theatrical beauty, we promote processes with diverse communities that bring to the stage ignored, discarded, or forgotten stories — transforming them into aesthetic narratives of visibility and social justice.
We use Theatre of Yes as an innovative and academically recognized methodology within the new dramaturgies of Applied Theatre. This approach integrates collective creation, artistic research, and community work, while exploring new aesthetics to challenge stereotypes on stage.
Our company builds strong bridges between community theatre and contemporary performance, collaborating with people and communities who wish to amplify their voices — including women, people with lived experience in mental health, functional diversity, LGBTQ+ groups, and others.
The essential value of Theatre of Yes lies in its capacity to generate new narratives from invisible stories, giving voice and presence to experiences that are often silenced. We understand beauty as a strategic tool to reclaim the stage and to place these protagonists at the center of the social narrative.
We develop participatory processes in which individuals become creators and protagonists of theatrical pieces built from their own lived experiences, in collaboration with theatres, festivals, and cultural organizations — as well as social and academic institutions.
We place beauty and the transformative power of art at the heart of our work, turning the stage into a space for dialogue, visibility, and recognition. Our dramaturgy — collective and transformative — is grounded in intention, body, and poetry, using emotions and desires as engines that open possible futures and reframe identities.
