Kempsey Shire Council is located in West Kempsey, NSW. The Kempsey Shire, also known as the Macleay Valley, is home to just over 30,000 residents with Kempsey being the major service town.With a strategic position mid-way between Sydney and Brisbane, the Macleay Valley is a featured destination of the Mid North Coast of NSW, spanning a geographic footprint of 3,338sq km from the hinterland to the coast. Townships and localities include South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Grassy Head, Stuarts Point, Smithtown, Gladstone and Frederickton.Our region is well known for its array of coastal attractions such as Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse and the national surfing reserve at Crescent Head.
