Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) was created by community for community 25 years ago and remains Queensland’s only dedicated LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl & Brotherboy (SB) youth service. ODYS supports LGBTIQ+ SB young people aged 12 to 24 and is dedicated to:Empowering LGBTIQ+ SB young people to live with pride as valued, celebrated, and authentic members of communityEngaging a workforce with lived experience and professional expertiseProviding safe spaces for young people to connect with peers and community to foster a sense of belongingAdvocating for the rights and needs of our young people to improve their access to resources, and to end discrimination and violenceImproving mental health outcomes and lowering suicidality for LGBTIQ+SB young people
