About this event
This event is organised by smartEn in partnership with Power2Drive, the international exhibition for charging infrastructure and e-mobility.
On our path towards climate neutrality, clean electrification of end-use sectors and, in particular, of the transport and building sectors will play a crucial role. This inevitably brings important changes to the way the electricity system functions as it will need to become more flexible to support the increase of variable renewable energy in a reliable and cost-effective way.
There is where electric vehicles can play a significant role. If done smartly, charging can turn electric vehicles into Decentralised Energy Resources providing flexibility to the system and supporting consumers’ active participation in the clean energy transition.
With most of the charging time occurring at home and the workplace, the electrification of transport requires an integrated system approach with the building sector.
In this perspective, this high-level event aims to present the benefits of smart charging in buildings both for consumers and the energy system.
In the first part of the event, European companies will run live demonstrations to showcase the available smart charging solutions both in residential and commercial buildings.
In the second part of the event, participants will be invited to visualise a reality where electric vehicles become, through smart charging in buildings, valuable decentralised energy resources that support climate neutrality in the most cost-effective way.
