Week 1

Wonder of Nature

The four elements are manifestations of the divine and we are made from them. Dancing them is a way to connect deeply to our deepest nature, to nature around us and to the nature of existence.

Week 2

Science of Awe

The importance of wider perspective in these times. How our body, heart and mind is affected by awe from the perspective of neurobiology. How we can cultivate and invite the medicine of wonder and awe into our lives.

The power of Imagination

Shamanic journey in the imaginal realms

A powerful Movement Medicine journey into sacred space and ancient shamanic practice into the lower worlds to meet animal allies and upper worlds to connect with celestial beings.

Week 4

Prayer Bundle and creative ways to pray

The importance of beauty, mystery and prayer in these times

Prayer as everyday language, inviting beauty and simple reminders of mystery into your home.

Healing Power of our Ancestors

Inspired by the work of Movement Medicine, Daniel Fohr’s Ancestral Medicine, Lakota wisdom and Celtic traditions of relationship with the ancestors

The gift and power of gratitude

It is so important to pause, dance and recharge particularly in these unique times where there is so much change, noise, conflicting opinions and environments of distress. This is a space to exhale, shake off and tune into the deeper sanity of nature's rhythms.

This is all about meeting these times resourced and self connected, rather than from a self protective posture. You will be given simple, short practices to tone your nervous system (like toning muscles) towards empowered relaxation through the lens of the Polyvagal perspective of Deb Dana and Dr. Porges.

This collective journey will be intentionally small. No prerequisites or previous experience in Movement Medicine is required. Whatever your background, culture, race, gender, condition, age, or circumstances you are very welcome to register. David’s intention is to create an intimate space for dancers to feel held, safe, and heard, to learn, practice, and strengthen deep and healing processes to help support and creatively resource you in the present time and beyond.

THE INVITATION

This collective journey will be intentionally small. No prerequisites or previous experience in Movement Medicine is required.

David’s intention is to create an intimate space for dancers to feel held, safe, and heard, to learn, practice, and strengthen deep and healing processes to help support and creatively resource you in the present time and beyond.

The intention of this journey is to reconnect you to the wisdom of living from the heart and will deepen your connection to yourself, your creativity and integrity as well as enliven your relationship with life on all levels. Movement Medicine has roots in indigenous shamanic wisdom as well as contemporary therapeutic pathways such as Gestalt and latest developments in Neuroscience.

Together, we will create a supportive community to journey together. There will be support groups, inter-module exercises and guided recorded practices so you can integrate these practices into your life and have the freedom and empowerment of self-leadership.

ABOUT DAVID MOONEY

David Mooney is a trained and qualified Movement Medicine Teacher and supervisor. He has been teaching Movement Medicine throughout Europe and in America for 11 years and has been dancing various forms of conscious dance practices for the past 15 years.

David is also a fully qualified and practicing psychotherapist, professional mentor and supervisor, and has a passion for shamanic and therapeutic pathways. He recently completed a year long Polyvagal training with Deb Dana. He is also a trained in Internal Family Systems.
