'Health and our Environment’: Health Humanities Conference 2021
Event Information
About this Event
We are delighted to present to you the 2021 online version of the Health and our Environment conference, originally scheduled for March 2020, but cancelled due to COVID-19.
Over recent decades our understandings of health and wellbeing have increasingly shifted from the ‘individualised’ and ‘medicalised’ view that dominated at the turn of the twentieth century, towards a more holistic approach, giving thought to how an individual’s environment can also impact and shape their health and wellbeing, whether at a personal, local or global level.
This one-day conference is hosted by the University of Nottingham Health Humanities Early Bird Researcher Group and Midlands4Cities. It aims to bring together postgraduates and early career researchers from a wide range of disciplines across the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Health Sciences to discuss and explore the multifaceted relationship between our health and environment. This event is an opportunity for scholars investigating any question of health and wellbeing from a Humanities perspective to showcase their research and share their work with the community.
For more information, head to the conference website here. You will find the program for the day as well as details on our amazing speakers.
The conference is free to attend and will be held online, but registration is needed.
