Free workshop intercultural competence: living and working in Belgium
Event Information
About this Event
Expect a brief introduction to some crucial concepts of intercultural competence, a set of first aid tools that will help you reflect on your personal experiences.
The key question we address is: what does intercultural awareness consist of and how can it support you in your professional plans and projects in what some people would call 'the strangest country in the world'?
The session will be moderated by Gunilla de Graef. Gunilla is currently working both as a lecturer and as a policy advisor at the Karel de Grote University College. She has over 15 years of experience as a diversity manager and trainer in both profit and not-for-profit organisations. In addition, Gunilla conducted research on intercultural competence and dealing with culture shock at the CIMIC (Center for Intercultural Management and International Communication, Thomas More Mechelen). She has participated in numerous international projects, developing toolboxes on the same subject.
