UNIQUE CLIENT: Inclusive Design

FR – Simona Rybáková, designer de costumes, est active sur la scène nationale et internationale dans le théâtre, le cinéma et des projets spécifiques depuis plus de 40 ans. Son fort intérêt pour les sujets transversaux l’a amené en 2020 au Studio de Mode et de Chaussures de l’UMPRUM, où, avec ces étudiant·e·s, elle a développé le projet UNIQUE CLIENT. Dans une optique de design inclusif, ce projet s’adresse à ceux et celles qui n’ont pas la chance de pouvoir porter des vêtements prêt à porter, pour des raisons de santé, de blessures, d’anomalies congénitales, de style de vie ou encore d’identité de genre. Plus qu’une simple collection de vêtements, il s’agit aussi d’une réflexion sur les besoins spécifiques de nombreuses personnes qui ne correspondent pas aux canons standards. Lors de cette rencontre, Simona Rybáková présentera le projet et les réflexions qui ont mené à la création de UNIQUE CLIENT.

NL – Simona Rybáková, kostuumontwerpster, is al bijna 40 jaar actief op het nationale en internationale platform in theater, film en speciale projecten. Haar sterke interesse in interdisciplinaire onderwerpen bracht haar in 2020 naar de Fashion and Footwear Studio van UMPRUM, waar ze samen met haar studenten het project UNIQUE CLIENT ontwikkelde. Met een inclusief ontwerpperspectief richt dit project zich tot mensen die geen confectiekleding kunnen dragen, vanwege hun gezondheid, verwondingen, geboorteafwijkingen, levensstijl of genderidentiteit. Het is meer dan een kledingcollectie, het is ook een overpeinzing van de specifieke behoeften van veel mensen die niet in de standaard canons passen. Tijdens deze lezing presenteert Simona Rybáková het project en de gedachten die hebben geleid tot de creatie van UNIQUE CLIENT.

Her strong interest in cross-disciplinary subjects brought her to the Fashion and Footwear Studio of UMPRUM in 2020, where together with her students, she developed the project UNIQUE CLIENT. With an inclusive design perspective, this project is aimed at those who are not able to wear ready-to-wear clothing due to health, injury, birth anomalies, lifestyle or gender identity. More than just a collection of clothes, it is also a reflection on the specific needs of many people who do not fit the standard canons. During this talk, Simona Rybáková will present the project and the reflections that led to the creation of UNIQUE CLIENT.
