• What is the Life of the Social Dance Workshop?

Dancing in social settings can be fun yet, challenging experience. In the prospect of dancing at a party you ever thought:

"I do not know how to dance. Why are they pushing me to go out there? I can not dance with all of those people. What would I do? I would look ridiculous. "

If so, this workshop is definitely for you! The fear of moving only exists in the mind but it can be overcome if one builds self-confidence, focus and intention, and a hefty movement toolkit that provides variety and clarity to your movement on the dance floor. We will engage in various exercises and activities that get to the root of your fear and bring out the amazing dancer in all of us.

Take a HUGE deep breath and join us as we dive into the world of social dancing.


In the workshop, we will:
-Engage in various movement activities and exercises that focus on body awareness and placement.
-Explore tips and tools you can use when you go out dancing in social settings like parties and work or family events.
-Build self-confidence, focus and intention
-Build an extensive movement toolkit that provides variety and clarity to your movement on the dance floor.
-Get to the root of fear in movement and bring out the amazing dancer in all of us.

• What are the benefits of Social Dancing?

The benefits of social dancing are endless and not only add to your experience on the dance floor but in everyday life. Social Dancing reduces stress and tension, adds romance, strengthens your bones and muscles, improve posture and flexibility, and creates social connections.


• Who May Attend?
Adult Absolute Beginner/Beginner Movers. NO Previous Experience Required.

• What should I wear/bring?
Be sure to bring a water bottle and wear comfy clothing and shoes.

• Who is Leading the Workshop?


International Dance Artist Briana Ashley Stuart is an American performer, teacher choreographer, and entrepreneur who currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. In Brussels, she established an arts consultancy organization called STU Arts, that provides broad high quality arts-related services and consultancy with a focus on performance, teaching, choreography and arts administration for independent dance artists, dance companies, businesses, corporations and cultural arts organizations. Her extensive experience in movement and dance contributes to her interest in creating movement based curriculums to improve knowledge of the world and the individual, solve problems and create strong connections within various communities. Most recently, her work in STU Arts was featured in the online Magazine I love Brussels in March 2018.
