Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) such as low back pain and neck pain are a major problem, and the likelihood of being disabled by MSDs has worsened in recent decades. Increased teleworking - which accelerated quickly during the pandemic – brings with it both opportunities and risks in terms of musculoskeletal health. For example, it can mean less commuting allowing more time for leisure, fitness, personal life and work-life balance. However, it can also mean a less rigorous environmental inspection, and a less structured workday with less clear boundaries between worktime and hometime. In this context physiotherapists have a key role, as they are part of the multidisciplinary health team who can advise on prevention and treatment of MSDs.
This one-hour live online webinar brings together multiple stakeholders to discuss how teleworking can be made safe, healthy, and cost-effective, combining best evidence and using real-world examples.
This webinar is organised by the Europe region World Physiotherapy in the framework of the EU-OSHA “Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load” Campaign. The Europe region World Physiotherapy is the organisation standing for the Physiotherapy profession at European level with a membership of 37 Member Organisations and representing 190.000 physiotherapists.
