Learn more about AI and applications as Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing
Online
In recent years, major advances have been made in Machine Learning, and approaches known as Deep Learning have played a critical role in this success. This session will focus on Deep Learning as applied to the field of Natural Language Processing (basically, ‘working with plain text’).
Key concepts will be briefly presented, such as Neural Networks and the basic mathematical ideas behind them, and a state-of-the-art language model called BERT (by Google Research) will be showcased against a few common NLP tasks (such as classification, sentiment analysis, question answering).
Pieter Ardinois is a senior IT leader with a broad experience in information management and media processing. He combines a commercial drive with a technical interest. He helps customers explore and apply new technical concepts to become more efficient.
The second speaker for this session is an engineer who has been with Pauwels Consulting for over 10 years, mostly working on IT-infrastructure projects, but also with an ever growing passion for Machine Learning topics, and currently completing a program in this field at the University of London.
