Free Mental Health First Aid Training for Carers

Kookaburra Kids camps offer young carers a weekend break from being the carer at home. Two-night camps are delivered in a peer based and recreational setting rather than a clinical setting and empower young people to thrive beyond the impacts of family mental illness. The Cairns and Townsville based camps provide young carers with frequent psychoeducation sessions covering topics like positive help-seeking behaviours, goal setting, self-value, setbacks and resilience. Young carers also engage in fun outdoor activities, icebreakers, as well as arts and crafts.
