Golden Thread Gallery is Belfast’s leading contemporary visual art gallery. We use visual arts to open up the past, present and future, by offering the public a contextual experience of visual art of our time. Through our exhibitions, events, workshops, mentoring, and more, we create opportunities for people to include art in their daily lives and use art as a tool for making life better. We strive to be a welcoming, accessible destination where every visitor is engaged, educated, challenged and inspired by visual art.Our new home at 23-29 Queen Street is a beautifully renovated and restored heritage building in the heart of Belfast’s city centre. Set across two floors, it includes 2 large galleries, a projection room, a Community Participation & Engagement Hub, and Northern Ireland’s first visual art library & archive. We’re an accessible venue with step-free street access to the ground floor, wheelchair-accessible ground-floor bathroom and wheelchair accessible lift to the Upper Gallery. We are a breastfeeding friendly space, with baby-changing facilities, children’s play area and room to park buggies or prams.Entry to the gallery is free. Our principal funders are the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Council.
